Part-Time Bookkeeper

Pay: $24.55 – $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20-25 per week
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and experience with various accounting software. This role is essential in supporting our financial operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with GAAP standards. The Bookkeeper will assist in managing accounts payable and receivable, perform reconciliations, and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization.
Requirements
- Maintain accurate financial records through double-entry bookkeeping practices
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist in general ledger accounting and journal entries
- Prepare financial reports and assist in budget preparation
- Conduct account analysis and ensure compliance with financial concepts
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, Xero, or similar tools for efficient bookkeeping
- Support payroll processing and maintain payroll records
- Collaborate with team members on governmental or non-profit accounting tasks as needed
- Ensure adherence to GAAP standards in all financial documentation
Requirements
- Proficiency in accounting software, including QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles and practices
- Knowledge of financial report writing and technical accounting skills
- Familiarity with debits & credits, account reconciliation, and budgeting processes
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team environment
- Previous experience in bookkeeping or a related field preferred
